The Junk is a stunning, historical 33m vessel that was originally built in 1962 as a sailing cargo vessel, she was completely overhauled and refitted in 1997 to the vessel she is today. Built from the finest Asian teak wood known as Takien Tong, she is a three mast junk vessel with 330 square metres of sails that are both functional and beautiful.

The Junk is able to comfortably welcome 18 divers on board. Accommodation is provided in two flexible double/twin cabins, two triple berth cabins, and two quad cabins that can sleep up to four divers in twin bunk beds. All cabins are equipped with air conditioning, fan and offer en-suite facilities.

The spacious, air-conditioned saloon is decoratively fitted with hand carved shelves, drawers and cabinets, Dining on board The Junk is truly first class. With a wide selection of dishes ranging from Asian themed cuisine to more traditional Western styled dishes. Alongside the regularly scheduled meals throughout the day, fresh fruit and additional snacks are always available. Meals are served in the saloon which, with its open design and many windows, offers incredible views of the surrounding oceans.

An expansive dive and leisure deck provides ample space for kitting up as well as for relaxing. Underwater photographers and videographers will appreciate the large fresh water rinsing tanks and designated areas for charging and preparation of equipment.

The Phinisi is a traditional Indonesian sailing yacht offering liveaboard dive holidays in Thailand and Myanmar, comfortably accommodating 18 divers.
She boasts a spacious dive deck with plenty of storage space for all of your dive gear.

The outdoor dining area at the stern is covered and shaded so you can fully take in the breath-taking views of Thailand and Myanmar. Every day, our chef prepares plenty of dishes from the famous Thai cuisine with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

The Phinisi – 4 or 5 nights

Join The Phinisi on a 4 or 5 night Southern Thailand liveaboard scuba diving itinerary exploring the highlights of the South Andaman Sea.

The 4 night itinerary includes Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa and Koh Lipe while the 5 night itinerary also visits the Racha Islands and a variety of dive sites around Koh Phi Phi.

The Junk and The Phinisi 3 Days / 2 Nights

This short 3 day / 2 night trip explores the Phi Phi Island group, which lies in Phang-Nga bay about 45km east of Phuket.

Two main islands make up Phi Phi with the largest island of Phi Phi Don being a few kilometres north of Phi Phi Lae. These remarkable islands are surrounded by breathtaking limestone cliffs rising vertically into the sky, where tropical vegetation takes over at the crest.

There are many beautiful beaches, coves and bays which make for dramatic scenery to enjoy surface intervals during your liveaboard vacation in Thailand.

The Junk and The Phinisi – 4 Nights or 6 Nights

This 6 night Thailand liveaboard adventure combines the Similans Islands with Kon Bon and Koh Tachai and reaches northwards as far as Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands.

The Similan Islands and Surin Islands National Marine Parks are best reached by liveaboard dive boat and this 6 night safari covers both allowing up to 19 dives, including up to 4 sunset / night dives at some of the best dive sites in the Andaman Sea. Sharks, marbled whip rays, turtles, harlequin shrimp and wondrous soft corals all await the eager diver.

Join The Phinisi on this unique liveaboard itinerary exploring some of the very best scuba diving that Thailand and the Andaman Sea has to offer.

Over the course of 10 nights, the liveaboard diving itinerary combines highlights of our 6 nights Similan and Surin Islands itinerary with 4 nights Southern Thailand allowing you to experience the delights of Hin Daeng, Hin Muang, Koh Haa and Koh Phi Phi along with the Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and the Surin Islands; Truly the Best of Thailand.

• There are three embarkation and disembarkation possibilities for this itinerary; Please be sure to check your specific departure dates when you make your booking to confirm the applicable start and end points and times.

Regardless of the itinerary route, during the time when the boat is moving between South Andamans and Similan Islands, the Phinisi will stop briefly for reprovisioning at Chalong.

Occasionally we may change a 10 night itinerary on our schedules to run as consecutive 4 nights Southern Thailand and 6 nights Similan & Surin Islands (or vice versa) in order to accommodate guests who are unable to do the full 10 night duration.

However, this does not impact on the areas visited or the number of dives that are normally possible over the course of the full 10 nights itinerary; it simply means that guests can embark or disembark in Chalong while others remain on board or can go ashore for an organised tour of some of the local attractions.
