Oman has one of the wildest biodiversity of marine life in the world and in Musandam you will be the only diving group in the area.

Turtles, lobsters and huge batfish are so curious and unafraid to approach and play with divers.

On a diving experience you may encounter whale sharks, leopard sharks, black tip and grey reef sharks, Mola Mola, Devil Ray’s, Mobula’s, Eagle Rays and turtles.

You will be blown away by the varieties of nudibranch, pipefish, scorpionfish and morays.

We are proud to partner with Musandam Discovery Diving, who are the only diving operators in the region. The owner Bader is a local legend, he guided Simon Reeves in the local filming of Indan Ocean BBC Series.

Truly passionate about diving and Musandam, your experience will be enriched with his knowledge of the area, on land and in the water.

Bader’s team runs daily diving boats to explore the diving sites dotted around the peninsula. Diving experiences also include overnight camping and barbecues in secluded, sheltered beaches with dusk and dawn diving.

Our choice of accommodation in Khasab is a bed and breakfast option at the 4* Atana Musandam Hotel next door to the dive centre. The Atana Musandam is a beautifully presented boutique style hotel.

The hotel is located on the peninsula surrounded on two sides by the waters from the Gulf of Oman and Straits of Hormuz. The facilities include a beautiful swimming pool with a small infinity pool attached, fully equipped gym, two restaurants and full room service. The rooms are large, air-conditioned with Satellite TV and large double or twin beds

We recommend dining out locally and have hand picked some authentic restaurants that we love, and will share our experiences and suggestions with you.

The restaurant’s in Khasab serve some of the finest food we have tasted, prices comparable with “street style food”, a real clash of Omani/Turkish/Indian, from curries to grilled meats and fish and vegetarian dishes alike.

Diving with Musandam Discovery promises an exceptional experience, with our PADI centre conveniently located approximately 50 meters from the Atana Musandam Hotel. Led by the owner, Bader, our dedicated team ensures smooth operations and professionalism at every step.

Our dive centre boasts all the amenities you’d expect, creating a seamless and enjoyable diving experience. Facilities include a welcoming reception area with soft
seating, a camera room, a course classroom, a dry equipment room with storage, a compressor room with a wet storage area, rinse tanks for all your equipment,
showers, changing rooms, and comfortable outside seating. As part of our commitment to guest satisfaction, all hot and soft drinks are included.

Diving adventures unfold from one of our two daily boats, and for large groups, we offer a unique experience of diving from our Dhow while cruising the stunning Fjords. Most dive sites are conveniently located approximately 45 minutes away in the Fjords of Musandam.

Operations start between 0800-0830hrs, offering the flexibility of 2 or 3 daily dives, complete with snacks, and drinks. Explore the diverse underwater landscape of Musandam, featuring over 29 dive sites that encompass shallow reefs, exhilarating drifts, captivating walls, deep dives, intriguing wrecks, and enchanting night dives.

Half day mountain safari; Mountain safari with our 4wd drive car to Jebel Harim Mountains where you will visit centuries old villages and the amazing view from Khor Najid

Trekking tour to Wadi Ain; Drive with our 4WD to the mountain of Jebel Harim. Together with a local English-speaking guide you will hike through the rocky riverbed of Wadi Ain. At the end of the wadi, you can enjoy a refreshing waterfall in the mountain. You need comfortable trekking shoes. The excursion is suitable only for experienced trekkers.
Duration of the excursion: 4 – 5 Hours

Overnight in a Dhow; Join us on our beautiful traditional Omani Dhow, where until sunset you can swim, snorkel, fish or relax before a BBQ dinner. Sleeping is on the deck under the stars, the traditional way, whilst star gazing and falling asleep under the stars. We also run 1/ 2 day dhow trips which includes lunch, dolphin watching and snorkelling

Trekking Tour to Jebel Sham; Jebel Sham a relatively new area designed for professional trekkers. You have the chance to discover the peak of the fjord Habalayn and Sham, and along the trek you’ll pass an ancient, abandoned dry stone village. At some point we will stop at the Great Tree of the Mountain, for a rest and coffee refreshment. After our rest we will climb up the foothill to see the first view of Khasab. Walking in the opposite direction, you will see part of Khor Habalayan, we then continue trekking to the highest peak to take in a breathtaking out of this world view, that will take you to a dreamy place of a thousand nights.

How we go to Khasab

We travelled via Dubai and transfer across the border into Oman. This takes approximately 2 ½ hours and is very efficient and stress free. The visa cost at the Omani border is 5 OMR, not included.
