Diving at Dumaguete
The frogfish capital of the Philippines, Dumaguete, with its black volcanic sandy beaches, offers divers a great opportunity to see unique macro marine life on sandy patches, hard coral reefs, and artificial reefs (including cars, various structures, and more!).
From Dumaguete, you can dive over 20 coastal dive sites, the healthy reefs around Apo Island with over 400 documented species of corals (that’s 65% of the world’s corals!), the vibrant walls of Siquijor, and snorkeling with whale sharks in Oslob!
Dumaguete has a rich marine biodiversity, including seven different species of frogfish, blue ring, mimic, and coconut octopus, cuttlefish, stargazers, jawfish, various eels, pipefish, and more!

Flexible Dive Options
- Local Dives at 8:30am, 10:30am, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm (night dives available every day)
- Choice of dive site each time (talk to our guides about where you want to go and what you want to see)
- Small groups (no more than 6 people) and most dive spots are within ten minutes of the resort
- Day Trips to Verde Island and Anilao (Puerto Galera) and Apo Island, Siquijor, Oslob and Sumilon (Dumaguete)
Camera facilities
Dumaguete Resort has one of the most spacious camera facilities you will find in any dive resort worldwide. There are 21 individual cubbyholes to store equipment, a work surface 80cm deep and a total of nearly 14m long and floor space of over 21 square meters.
Five air-guns are positioned around the room, 16 sets of power sockets in both 220 and 110 volts, paper towel dispensers for cleaning O-Rings, a shelf running the length of the work surface for battery chargers and eight fluorescent under-shelf lights for additional illumination for the all important O-Ring check.
The room is climate controlled for comfortable working conditions and also has a 42-inch HD flat-screen TV mounted on the wall with both HDMI and USB connections.
Bar & Restaurant
Toko’s restaurant is right on the beach and will provide you with a unique dining experience. Using fresh local products and flavors, but made to an international standard, we have moved away from monotonous a la carte menus to daily changing blackboard menus at both lunch and dinner.
Choose from an extensive list of cocktails and shakes, or sip the best coffee in town while enjoying the wonderful view.
Swimming pool
Refresh yourself in our private pool or relax in the sun. This fresh water pool is over 100 sqm in size with a shallow (1m) area, as well as a deeper (3m) area. Lushly landscaped, it is filled with non-chlorinated water and beautifully sheltered by trees.
Spa & Wellness
Our newly renovated Spa features four private therapy rooms – there’s also a sauna and rain shower area to complement your therapy. Unwind from a hard day’s diving and add the perfect finishing touches to your vacation.

Transfers (Getting there)
We can arrange transfer from Manila Airport right to the doorstep of Atlantis Dumaguete in an Air-conditioned van. Daily flights from Manila (MNL) via Cebu Pacific or Philippine Airlines (both use Airbus A319/320 aircraft). Flight time is approximately one hour, meet and greet service in Dumaguete Airport and an air-conditioned van to the resort, approximately 30 minutes.
Transfers from Cebu can be arranged via Plane, Van or Ferry.
Best Time to Dive
Dumaguete stands as a year-round diving haven, offering critters and abundant marine life throughout the calendar. While April marks the driest period, December to June typically brings sunny weather.
From July to mid-November, there’s a chance of rain, including the possibility of a monsoon (peak monsoon time from August to October). However, Dumaguete is less impacted compared to the northern part of the Philippines during monsoons. Notably, October is an excellent time for macro photography, especially capturing fascinating subjects like octopuses.

Tubbataha
Tubbataha is located in the Sulu Sea, at the centre of the Coral Triangle between Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines. Rarely visited due to its location and its status as a marine preserve, Tubbataha is made up of two reefs, simply referred to as the North and South Reefs.
The North and South Reefs both enclose a sandy lagoon. On the southern tip is an islet with a lighthouse. This is used as a rookery for birds and is frequented by turtles. Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is home to no less than 573 species of fish, 373 species of corals, 11 species of sharks, 12 species of dolphins and whales, nestling hawksbill and green sea turtles.

Visayas Safari
Our Visayas Safari is a unique opportunity to take in multiple beautiful islands in one week – Moalboal, Pescador, Oslob (dive with whale sharks), Sumilon Island, Balicasag, Panglao, Apo and Siquijor Island.
With easy transfers, many guests combine a stay at the resort along with their livea- board trip. Guests embark and disembark from our resort in Dumaguete.
Ultimate Visayas Safari
We also offer special 9 or 10 night Malapascua “Thresher Shark” charters from our Dumaguete resort with embarkation or disembarkation on a Saturday. Stops on this itinerary include – Oslob (dive with whale sharks) and Sumilon, Moaboal, Pescador Island, Gato Island, Monad Shoal (dive with thresher sharks) and Malapascua, Calanggaman Island, Balicasag, Panglao, Apo and Siquijor Island.
