Evolution House Reef
Kimud Shoal
Kimud Shoal is now the primary thresher shark cleaning station in the area and offers some of the most consistent sightings anywhere in the world. With a relatively shallow top, early-morning dives often enjoy good visibility as threshers arrive to be cleaned. Deeper slopes descend for technical divers, with occasional sightings of hammerheads and other pelagic species.
Jeremy adds: “Kimud has become the go-to site. Calm conditions and reliable shark encounters make it a standout dive.”
Monad Shoal
Monad Shoal is the original thresher shark site and remains an impressive submerged plateau. Alongside threshers, divers may encounter tiger sharks, bull sharks and seasonal manta rays. Steep walls beyond recreational depth make this site particularly appealing to technical divers.
Filomena adds: “Sunrise dives here are unforgettable. Calm seas, soft light and sharks appearing from the blue.”
Gato Island
A protected marine sanctuary, Gato Island is well known for macro life and interesting topography. Tunnels and reefs are home to sea kraits, white-tip reef sharks, frogfish, pygmy seahorses, ghost pipefish and nudibranchs. Caverns and rock formations add scale and variety to every dive.

“Gato is one of those sites where every dive feels different. There is always something new to find.”
Evolution House Reef
Just steps from the beach, the house reef offers excellent muck and night diving. Expect bobtail squid, mantis shrimp, seahorses, ghost pipefish, coconut octopus and a wide range of nocturnal behaviour. Sunset and night dives reveal an entirely different side of Malapascua’s underwater life.

Evolution supports both recreational and technical diving, with facilities for Nitrox, sidemount, trimix and CCR. Accommodation includes 16 comfortable rooms close to the sea, and the on-site restaurant, The Craic House, serves a mix of Western and Filipino dishes.
