Unmatched biodiversity in the heart of the Coral Triangle

All-Inclusive Raja Ampat Dive Trips, Tailored by Divers

Raja Ampat is widely regarded as the most biodiverse marine environment on Earth. Located off the northwest tip of Papua in eastern Indonesia, this remote archipelago sits at the very heart of the Coral Triangle and supports more marine species than anywhere else on the planet.

Diving in Raja Ampat is defined by colour, movement and scale. Expect reefs packed with life, dense schools of fish, sharks and rays cruising the blue, and coral coverage that feels almost unreal. Sea to Sky dive holidays in Raja Ampat are designed to give you meaningful time in this extraordinary environment, with logistics handled carefully so you can focus on the diving itself.

Raja Ampat is not an easy destination to reach, which is part of what keeps it so special. Travel planning, transfers and timing all matter here.

Sea to Sky works with trusted local partners to ensure your journey into Raja Ampat is smooth, well paced and focused on the best diving conditions. We help you navigate the remoteness of the region while maximising time underwater in the Dampier Strait, one of the richest marine corridors in the world.

You will benefit from:

  • Access to one of the most species-rich reef systems on Earth
  • Diving shaped around tides and currents for safety and enjoyment
  • Short boat rides to world-class sites
  • A calm, immersive base in a remote natural setting

Filomena adds:

“Raja Ampat is all about balance. When the planning is right, the experience feels effortless and deeply rewarding.”

Where You Will Dive in Raja Ampat

Where You Will Dive in Raja Ampat

Most diving takes place around the Dampier Strait, where nutrient-rich currents flow between the islands of Gam, Waigeo and Mansuar. These currents fuel extraordinary reef growth and dense fish populations, creating some of the most exciting diving anywhere in the world.

The majority of sites are reached within short boat rides, allowing for relaxed schedules and varied daily diving. These four sites give a snapshot of what makes Raja Ampat so special.

When to Dive in Raja Ampat, Indonesia

When to Dive in Raja Ampat, Indonesia

Raja Ampat is a year-round destination with warm water temperatures of around 28 to 29°C.

  • October to April
This period offers calmer seas and is peak season for manta ray encounters. Conditions are generally smoother, making travel and diving more comfortable.

  • May to September
Often referred to locally as the green season, this period can bring windier surface conditions. While manta sightings may be less concentrated, reef life remains exceptional and there are fewer visitors, creating a quieter experience.

In February 2026 we explored Misool, Penemu and Dampier Strait aboard Ilike. Read our full Raja Ampat liveaboard expedition report for dive sites, marine life sightings and seasonal conditions.

Beyond the Diving

Beyond the Diving

Raja Ampat’s appeal extends well beyond the water.

  • Bird of Paradise walks: Guided early-morning hikes offer the chance to see the Red Bird of Paradise in its natural habitat
  • Wayag Islands: A full-day trip to the iconic karst islands, with panoramic viewpoints and shallow-water snorkelling
  • Village visits: Opportunities to visit local communities such as Arborek and learn about traditional island life

The natural setting, jungle sounds and lack of crowds make Raja Ampat feel a world away from everyday life.
